It also features an audio slowing function that allows users to decrease the playback speed of their recordings, making it particularly beneficial for musicians learning unfamiliar pieces.

The app employs pitch detection and frequency analysis techniques, such as Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), to provide effective note analysis, especially for vocalists and players of guitar and piano. The note analyzer meticulously listens to the music, assesses its pitch, and converts the output into usable sheet music. Musicians can utilize this tool for note identification—assisting with transcriptions—and validating pitch accuracy while singing or playing their instruments. Additionally, it serves as a straightforward audio and voice recorder.

It is important to acknowledge that while the note detection algorithm performs commendably under optimal conditions, it does not guarantee a 100% extraction rate of all played notes. The effectiveness of the detection primarily relies on the quality of the input signal; optimal results are achieved when recording a single instrument or voice without accompanying background music. Positioning the recording device strategically in relation to the sound source can further enhance detection accuracy.

Users should be aware that the note recognition algorithm involves complex mathematical computations, which may require a brief processing time for analyzing recorded audio.

To clarify, here are some limitations of this application:

• Chord recognition: The app lacks a dedicated chord recognition algorithm and will not detect chords when multiple notes are played simultaneously.
• Separation of multiple instruments: The acoustic scanner cannot distinguish between different instruments, leading to subpar detection results when recording ensemble performances.
• Live sheet music recognition: This app does not provide real-time sheet music recognition; results are available only after an analytical processing period.
• Real sheet music: Instead of producing traditional sheet music, it generates an alternative notation format.
• Accuracy: The application will not achieve a 100% match rate for detected notes and may exhibit inaccuracies depending on signal quality.

The audio speed adjustment feature allows for variable playback speeds of 2x and 4x slower than normal, which can facilitate in-depth analysis of rapidly played pieces. Slowing down the playback can clarify the notation, making it easier to identify quick notes aurally. Should users encounter challenges with note detection accuracy, adjusting the detail level settings may enhance performance.

This music note detection functionality has been validated with guitar, piano, and vocal inputs but is expected to perform effectively with any instrument capable of producing notes above B1 (61.7 Hz).
